Welcome to the Parish of Sandleheath.

Our small but pretty village is a short distance to the west of the town of Fordingbridge on the edge of the New Forest.  Fortunate to have an area of common land at its centre, Sandleheath is a mixture of older traditional building and limited modern development. Although many of its inhabitants now work in the nearby cities of Salisbury, Southampton and Bournemouth, the village maintains a community based rural feel.  It is for this reason that the Parish is such an attractive place to live and bring up children.

Sandleheath Parish Council's principle objective is to focus on meeting the needs of the local community.  In particular support for the strong sense of community spirit, local pride and protection of the rural environment are seen as key objectives.

The Parish Council consists of 7 elected members, which for the community it serves it is lowest tier of Local Government.  Sandleheath ceded from Fordingbridge in 1979.  At the strategic level the Council supports recent government proposals to encourage closer working relationships between all levels of local government and aims to provide leadership for the community in having a stronger voice in the decisions that affect their lives.
